A NEW YEAR FOR STREETWISE COMMUNITY CIRCUS WORKSHOPS CIC

Streetwise CommunityCircus have hit the ground running in the New Year, and are back into workshops throughout Northern Ireland. Programmes in Antrim, Magherafelt, and Newtownabbey in partnership with the Northern Trust, Lisburn in Partnership with the Belfast Activity Centre and Carrickfergus in partnership with the National Autistic Society will be running until June, when we will have public showcases to demonstrate the skills of everyone involved. Here is a video of our showcase from the evergreen festival held at St Georges Market in December which was funded by the Belfast City Council Community Festivals Fund.

Our “Fit for Olympics” programme in partnership with the Belfast trust will be running in the Everton Centre every Thursday mornings until the end of March for participants from day centres throughout North and West Belfast.

New – Projects starting this week – We have four Youth Club Workshop Programmes for young people running for 6 weeks, funded through the Belfast City Councils, Annual Funding Programme.

The venues are:
Tuesday evenings St Agnes Youth Club (Andersonstown)
Wednesday evenings Rosario Youth Club (Ormeau Rd)
Thursday evenings , “The Centre” Cregagh Methodist Church Hall (Cregagh)
Thursday evenings Carrick Hill Community Centre (Carlisle Circus)

New – Samba Programme for individuals living with disabilities will be commencing in mid February in Orchardville Day Centre in partnership with the Belfast Trust and the ETC Club. This new project aims to combine the skills of our Samba band with the skills and experience of our disability team making this art for accessible to individuals who would not have the opportunity . We have identified the potential in this area and will be treating this as a pilot project for future development throughout Northern Ireland.
